Some homes have a mailbox stuck in a bucket of concrete at the end of the driveway. It works, technically. But it does nothing for the look of the entry. That's exactly the kind of thing we love fixing.

We built this custom Trex mailbox planter from scratch in the shop. The design combines a clean white post with a Trex-trimmed planter box base - giving the mailbox a solid, finished foundation instead of just a pole in the ground. It's low-maintenance by design. Trex doesn't rot, doesn't need painting, and holds up year after year without babysitting.

What makes a build like this worth doing is how much return you get for a relatively small investment. The entry to your home sets a tone. A polished mailbox setup says the rest of the property is just as well-kept. It's one of those details that neighbors notice and buyers remember.

This is the kind of custom carpentry work we genuinely enjoy. It's not a massive renovation - it's a focused, practical upgrade that solves a real problem and looks good doing it. We built this to fit the existing mailbox, so nothing about the functionality changes. It just looks a whole lot better getting there.

Small exterior projects like this are well within what our general carpentry work covers. If you've got something around your property that's functional but could use a serious upgrade in the looks department, that's exactly the conversation we like to have.
