Here's what we were working with - a pile of firewood just sitting loose on the ground next to the garage with nothing protecting it and no good way to access it. No cover, no organization, just a tangled heap of logs getting wet and hard to deal with. That's a frustrating setup when the weather turns cold and you need dry wood fast.
So we designed and built a custom 2-cord woodshed right up against the garage wall. The idea was to use that dead space beside the building and turn it into something functional. We framed it out with pressure-treated lumber, set it on concrete block footings to keep it up off the ground, and used horizontal slatted boards on the sides so air can still circulate and keep the wood dry.
The roof ties directly into the garage roofline, which does two things - it keeps rain and snow off the wood, and it makes the whole structure look like it belongs there instead of being an afterthought. The open front makes it easy to grab a few logs without digging around, and the raised floor keeps the bottom row off the dirt where moisture tends to collect.
That's the thing about a well-built custom structure - it doesn't just look better than a tarp or a loose pile. It actually makes the day-to-day easier. No more hauling wet wood inside, no more scrambling around in the dark trying to find dry logs. Everything is stacked, covered, and right where you need it. That's the kind of practical improvement we enjoy building.
We handle all kinds of custom outdoor builds like this, from decks and storage structures to whatever project you've been putting off because it just never seemed like the right time. If you've got a space that's not being used well, we can usually come up with a solution that fits your property and your budget.
